Paul completed his LLB with first class honours receiving a special commendation for intellectual ability & sustained commitment, Paul won the Mills and Reeve Law Prize for best undergraduate dissertation, a Researchers Scholarship and Achievement Scholarship before successfully completing the Legal Practice Course in June 2016, when he also won the Ewart Price Prize for Commitment and Professionalism.
Paul has 25 years’ of experience in the equestrian industry, managing and owning both small and large establishments, as well as building one of the first and largest equestrian websites in the world including a sports horse stallion database with over 3000 stallions listed, hosted many top riders and associations such as British Horse Trials Association, British Show Jumping Association, British Dressage and the British Horse Society. In addition to this Paul also has several years’ experience of the education system, running an inclusion program and providing cover lessons at both key stage 3 and 4.
Paul has taken an active role In the community and as Parish Council Chairman developed an understanding of local issues and how balancing the complex relationships between developers, residents and local planning is key to the success of a community. In addition to this, Paul has also worked with the British Horse Society as a committee member and education officer for the BHS Suffolk Committee, helping organise and run fund raising events, promoting the welfare of horses and improving the standard of training.
Paul has a passion for horses and not only enjoys a gallop across a stubble field, but has also trained and competed up to Prix St George level dressage with both his own and others’ horses. Paul also enjoys riding his motorcycle and has previously raced motorcycle and sidecars, often referred to as outfit racing. He is also a keen sailor.
